Reply to HH if waiting until next PE cycle?

Background: First year MBB, intending to recruit for MM PE during next year's cycle.

I have been receiving emails from HHs with something along the line of the below. Few questions:

  1. Am I wasting their time by responding if I don't intend to recruit until next year?
  2. If I do respond, should I be prepared to answer technicals?
  3. Is there any advantage in responding or any disadvantage (dropping off of their radar) from not responding?

"Let me know if you are interested in learning more about opportunities for 2021 and/or 2020 starts. Even if you don’t plan to recruit in the near term, we’re always glad to find time to answer questions and discuss the process more informally. Note that this would be a purely informational conversation and would not commit you to formally recruiting. "
