Rotunda Capital? Thoughts?
I have been hit up by several headhunters for a Senior Associate role with Rotunda. I took an interview and the seem really sharp...anyone know anything about them or have any intel if it's one to run at? The do LMM industrials based in DC/Chi
I know someone who worked there. They are apparently nice people and early returns have been good, but they said very sweaty. They left because of that and because Rotunda started as a fundless sponsor and didn't understand market employment stuff
I heard way below market cash comp, unreasonable promotion timelines and some sketchier stuff like quoting carry value at 3x and acting like they were above market carry
If you have to be in DC then it is a limited pool but it sounded like a frustrating experience...
echoing the above. leadership are good people, but sweaty culture, particularly at junior level.
Know a guy there. total sweatshop, shit comp, avoid
I interacted with these guys on a deal and the junior staff seemed overwhelmed. It looks like they upsized their fund quite a bit (Fund IV at $735 vs. Fund III at $405M) which is good momentum.
They seem to be value oriented like an HIG so you’ll likely look at a lot of companies and bid at a more conservative price.
Lol always the value shops that value their people at 2x EBITDA
Love when people say "horrendous comp, total sweat shop, but nice seniors". If those are both true, then they aren't nice seniors, they are just sociopaths who are cleverly exploiting naive associates.
