Search Fund Internship Case Study
Supposed to find small businesses with an estimated EBITDA of 1-3M and give rationale for the estimated EBITDA for a case study for the application but I don't know how to estimate EBITDA with no public financial information. pls help
Pick a field services industry, like residential plumbing or HVAC.
Then, Google what their typical EBITDA margins are. Let's say it's 20%.
Then, Google how much a typical technician contributes in annual revenue. Let's say it's $400k.
Therefore, to find a Company producing >=$1M EBITDA, we can assume the Company must have ~13 technicians.
Then, find a local company via Google, and take a look at their media (either on their website or socials). Look for evidence of 13 technicians (either a team page or a video/image of their fleet).
If you can find evidence of >=13 technicians, then the company qualifies as an appropriate target to reach out to.
Thank you so much! This was really helpful.
