Secure role prior to b-school?

Getting ready to start b school for my mba in the fall and had a wild idea as I’ve been doing some networking: is it possible to secure an offer in a mid-market PE or GE firm prior to starting school? Would they wait so long for me to finish? Is this disadvantageous considering I would miss other recruiting opportunities?

Ive just heard a lot of stories of students reaching the end of year 2 with no offer so wondering if 1) it’s possible to get an early offer and 2) if it arises should I take it?

anecdotals appreciated!

p.s. I am going to a T20 school not well known for PE/GE.

There are plenty of firms who pre-extend an offer for their current associates who would've been promoted but chose (or were required) to go to b-school so they have a spot after graduating, but have never seen a firm extend an offer two years early to a random candidate unless they've worked with that person before in the past.  That was the point with my question above....what is the point of them doing that when there are plenty of well-qualified candidates graduating b-school each year who are trying to get into PE?  It's a VERY competitive post-B school route (as there are both pre-MBA associates trying to pivot into a post-MBA spot, plus a lot of people from IB who were hoping to use b-school as a way to enter PE ) and there is no shortage of great candidates who are available that year.  I guess I could see how it's technically possible if someone's profile was one in a million and that firm just needed to lock someone up, but seems like that is an incredibly rare and unlikely situation.
