What is a reasonable amount to expense for superday travel? I know its the typical flight, hotel, transportation, meals, but what should the total cost land between?

It's really all situational (based on specific city, how far in advance you booked, what airfare class the sponsor suggested or booked for you). As long as you don't abuse what's offered (staying extra nights, eating extravagantly, taking black cars, upgrading your cabin), it shouldn't matter.
Realistically, for a tier 1 city, probably $1-1.5k?? Thinking $500-700 for RT flight, $400-600 for one hotel night, some snacks and maybe one meal, 4-6 Uber rides (both ways to both airports + rides to/from office).
