Talking about deals

obviously best if you have worked on a deal from buying and then ultimate exit so you can hopefully have a good deal to point to and pray that it was a good/stellar investment

what happens for deals where you do some portfolio management and then exit, but you were not there for the initial investment? can you actually take 'credit' for these returns in future interviews/employers? i imagine one can point to some contribution to these since you worked on them, but a certain part of the return depends on how much these were bought at, so how would you charactertise when talking about deals?

do you typically show your deal sheet to future employers or only when asked?
