Nobody?
I’m bumping this. For sure somebody must have something
Hey mate, do you know which headhunters they use for London?
It's a solo HH, not a big firm
Interviewed with them before and found them to be very arrogant and very aggressive.
The European portfolio looks pretty under water (Klarna, Mollie, Traderepublic), but they are a US fund with well known portfolio companies
thank you! Can you elaborate? Yeah, I was guessing their portfolio can't be in green right now... Do you have any references on track-record, Carry, etc?
And hows work there?
Don’t think they’re relevant in Europe to be honest?
Why not?
Bumping this, any info on London office appreciated.
It's a good brand name for sure but boy, if you see how much they've £££ deployed in Europe last year or two it's not a particularly rosy picture...
Upward mobility is quite limited in London and it's definitely not an unstressful place to work at
How much did they actually deploy? I wonder why the London team is so small
Any info on comp structure at Associate level?
Have and have had multiple friends there so know it pretty well. Random thoughts below
When things get busy things get damn busy. Not a WLB place but is any at that scale.
The head of the office is super competitive. Means he can be volatile if things don't go as planned although less so directly at juniors.
Pay is good and then very very good at VP. The assos are on a 3-year program (I think) and get to co-invest in deals. They do a lot of backchannel references for applicants. Despite fundsize they tend to be quite 'scrappy'. And yes, fundraise is not going too well but that's nothing new under the sun in VC.
Good place and good folks in general
Very helpful, thanks. Any sense on determinants of upwards mobility? Eg source X number of deals etc
No. I think it's very subjective given how small team it is. I recall my friend mentioning there is some assessment on deals done and as such every asso has an incentive to push deals through both good and bad ones. But this is all anectdotal and from memory so might be totally off.
Is anyone currently interviewing with them?
Not yet but saw they were hiring, has anyone had the process kick off? Seems like a very lengthy and competitive process
I only did the first 30min interview. The person was actually super nice. Basic questions around where do you come from, why growth, why tech. Prepare investment ideas + deep analysis of one of their portco.
Seems to be entry assoc role so yeah 2-3 years exp. and they posted the role on Linkedin
Yeah have seen the job posting, but I suppose the main way to be included in the process is via headhunter
Are you Associate 1 right now?
