Thinking of disconnecting from LinkedIn - thoughts?

Hi guys:

I was wondering if there are people in PE who don't have a Linkedin profile, as I'm thinking about disabling mine. While I like that it helps me to stay in touch, I also do a decent job of staying in touch with people I've worked with on my own. I like my privacy, which is the chief reason why I'm considering deleting mine.

I'm curious if any of you working in PE have disconnected from LinkedIn entirely, and whether you think it affects your information in-take/recruiting /professional advancements adversely please? Does it affect recruiting (if you are already connected with headhunters via email)? Would love to hear about your thoughts and experiences!

Thanks

Headhunters will not be able to tell you of any connections you and your network have to a given firm or investment opportunity. If you want privacy, make sure to first delete your non-professional social medias. Satisfaction with decent is not a successful mindset for Private Equity.
