Thoughts on Joining a SPAC

I’ll be receiving an offer from a fairly large SPAC. I currently work at a MM PE shop and am interviewing at other PE shops as well. I would eventually like to leave PE and join a more growth/ VC oriented shop.

Curious to hear about work life at a SPAC and if it’s a good career transition. Are there any good exit opps from a SPAC? Am I an idiot for even considering leaving PE for a SPAC? I’ll also be taking a paycut, which is annoying.

It’s a standalone SPAC but given the people in charge, they’ll likely be able to raise a new SPAC quickly. Further, they’ll have a good investment angle as it’s run by primarily public equity people.
