Thoughts on PE and consulting?

Hi Everyone,

Hope everyone is having a great day.

I recently accepted an offer for an internship from a consulting firm a few weeks ago. I know the majority of the work is TDD and CDD for PE clients looking into software companies with occasional value creation. However, I am curious about the future of the software economy as a whole and how that will affect the group.

From a few sources online, I saw that PE activity is still very high, but there are deal slowdowns. KPMG cites AI and related infrastructure as a main driver of a lot of this activity, but I can't help but think this is some sort of bubble.

I was curious as to hear other's thoughts on the market and future of PE advising type consulting, especially in something that ebbs and flows as much as the software economy.
