I had a full background check but did not have to provide a transcript, thank god

Once you’ve been hired by a reputable bank or company, then it’s less of a need. Some will look at it to stack candidate up. Had an associate level interview on the sell side that required the transcript, had to walk them through it, though I worked through school so grades weren’t top of the list as long as I was above 3.0.

Relieving. I had a 3.2 in undergrad (obviously not the best) so I was worried about buy side recruiting or even lateraling over to bigger bank. Prob should leave gpa off resume all together or just keep it on hoping no one thinks twice..?

I would leave it off. Top of my resume is relevant experiences, education is below that. If the conversation does come up, not having a GPA on the resume allows you to frame the data point and build a story around it. If they see (in their opinion) an unfavorable GPA off the bat, it’s open to their interpretation.

See what I mean? If there’s a weak point on your resume that you end up not showing, and you can sell / talk through situations well, then when the conversation is brought up, you start on offense rather than defense.

I did have someone call me out on leaving my GPA off, but it was more them joking as they weren’t stellar in school either. That was specifically for a PC gig.
