Warburg London
Hi all, does anyone have updated views on WP in london? In particular the industrials team?
Heard they are running a process but that culture is quite bad. Can anyone confirm / provide more colour?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, Warburg Pincus' Industrials team has faced some challenges in recent years. A thread from February 2021 highlighted concerns about the Industrial & Business Services (IBS) group, mentioning a "mass exodus" of junior staff, particularly at the associate level. This was attributed to a tough work/life balance, with some associates leaving within half a year. While this paints a picture of a demanding culture, it’s worth noting that such dynamics can vary over time and across teams.
If you're considering joining, it might be helpful to connect with current or former team members to get the most up-to-date insights on the culture and workload.

Heard the same rumors, but from what I’ve seen, Warburg London isn’t toxic—especially compared to some other PE shops. Industrials team is solid, covers real sectors (aero, defense, chemicals), and gets deal flow. Culture varies by VP/Principal, but no horror stories worth flagging. If you're sharp and can hang, you'll be fine.
Where are you in the process?
Just done the model test. Do you have any idea what comes after?
did you pass?
Which HH is running the process?
Blackwood. Do you have intel on any other processes
Who else is hiring?
Used to be horrible 5+ years ago with lots of ASC churning even before the end of their 2 years stint.
Apparently, culture has changed for the better, and VP / Principal for the most part focus on having a good culture.
Sweaty - but good pay.
Sweaty in the sense you have to ask to go on a trip on the weekend lol.
Brother that is every single MF at the Associate level and I got half their pay
Think it’s pretty normal to flag to a senior person you’re working with - especially if you anticipate getting pinged on the weekend. Wouldn’t call this “asking”.
