Working in PE with a family

Graduating from my MBA program next year and have had some internships within PE, I'm also getting married this upcoming year and will be starting my family sometime in the next 10 years. Does anyone have any experience with people who have families and how it usually pans out within PE? Are there any firms that tend to have less than 65 hours a week? Obviously the industry isn't ideal for work/life balance as compensation is so high for a reason, but was curious.

PE Associate with two kids here. Works fine, particularly because VPs and Directors are human beings and have kids. Typical work week is 60-65h, seen up to 90h+ for 4 months straight due to heavy overlapping deals, but otherwise all is chill. Went a week without seeing my kids recently, so make sure you can live with that kind of depressing shit (I know I struggle with it, but I manage). If you have an understanding partner, it also helps a lot.
