2022 PERE Analyst Pay from UG

Hey All,
Looking for some input on pay in entry level acquisitions analyst. I got an offer from a PERE shop with 3b aum and 400-600m/year in deal volume.

I am just out of undergrad but have worked full time for a family office (30m in aum) while in school since an internship sophomore year and ended up sourcing a few deals large deals for them. Have an offer for 100k from the office and 5% promote. Turning it down to go learn from the big dogs.

I have some friends going into IB, commercial banking, making well into six figures.

Am I getting lowballed at 65k from this shop? I expect to make 5-10 in bonus on top.

I’m fucking embarrassed for the company that offered $65k. They’re investing and managing external money and they expect someone who’s getting paid less than new grads doing HR, risk management, compliance, etc. at banks to do a good job? I would be terrified to be an investor at the firm.

Graduating this semester and can offer some NYC data points. I personally had multiple offers from household names (not BX/Starwood level, but all well known) and the projected all-ins were ~$160k to $180k. Don’t take anything under $100k all-in IF you’re targeting NYC. I have no idea what comp is like elsewhere.

Sibling of mine doing RE Acq in NY is getting 110k base. Im surprised any reputable shop is only offering 65k and is still attractive to junior talent

Are you in Atlanta or Dallas? If so, that’s a fine number. Lateral after a year or two to get a better comp package.

Chicago, LA, Boston etc. you’re pushing it. But it’s doable straight out of school if it’s truly a reputable firm.

If you’re in NYC/SF, I think that’s too low. You’ll struggle without assistance from parents.

Yeah there are firms that pay more. But you might have to get a year of experience before you can work there - which is totally fine
