ADIA, Emaar, Majid al Futtaim, QIA Comp?

Looking for more information on what comp (USD) is like at either the Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds (Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Qatar Investment Authority) or developers (Majid Al Futtaim, Emaar, etc). What's the ideal years of experience to have before deciding to make such a jump? Analyst, associate, senior associate comp? How / why is it  difficult to move back to the US?

I have heard it is difficult to get back to the US once you're over there for a while. My understanding, from my own research online and talking to a few folks, is the way of doing business there is so different that employers in the US do not view it as transferrable experience. This may not be the case for every role. For example, some of the folks in those funds focus only on investing in US markets. In that scenario, you'd obviously have great knowledge that is usable back home. Conversely, if you're in a development role doing projects only in the UAE, that's where it may be tough to sell that experience to employers back here.
