Agency Origination comp?
Anyone have insight to an agency originator compensation. High end to low end based on performance? Is it all commission or is it base and bonus at a bank operation or one of the agency focused origination firms?
Thanks all.
Its all over the place. Are you going to be part of a team or riding solo? I'd advise a team unless you've been doing this for a long time and have a roster of loyal clients. Varies from lender to lender but generally you have a draw say $125k, that you pay back 2x and from there its a waterfall. Some lenders take 70% and give you 30% and it goes up from there. Servicing revenue also comes into play, but again its all over the place in terms of gross income. Some lenders have everything set in stone while others let you negotiate. Working at a bank can suck but having a balance sheet doesn't hurt. Make sure you have a solid underwriting staff too, they can make or break deals which makes or breaks your income/career. PM me for more details.
