Another Thor Equities Post...

Hello All-

A recruiter recently reached out to me regarding a director/VP role at Thor Equities. This role would be specifically focused on sourcing acquisitions opportunities in the hospitality sector.

Prior to speaking with the recruiter I had already seen many of the other negative posts on WSO about Thor - toxic culture, meat grinder, awful investment sense, etc. However, all of this seems related to more junior positions and focusing on their retail/industrial ventures.

The role itself seems like exactly where I want to be taking the next step with my career with pretty good comp. Am I talking myself into this despite the many red flags on here? I have a first round interview coming up, but I don't want to waste time if this is a bad idea.

Any insight is appreciated!

Okay, so I posted one of these before.

I had heard bad first person reviews of Thor(culture). They were going through a bad time where they took a hit from big ticket retail.  Now they have lucked out through several of their industrial purchases.  the "head" of AM left the company for a good named company, she was looking to leave for like 3 years.

Overall, everyone I know who has worked there has been able to land at very reputable companies afterwards. Culture might not be great, the office itself does not get daylight.

Take everything I sai with a grain of salt as this is mostly stale 3+ years old. P.S. I received an offer from them, but ultimately declined.
