Anyone Else Keep Getting Messages From Recruiters Lately?

My intent is not to flex. Quite honestly I don't understand why I am getting LinkedIn messages every other week from job recruiters for open real estate analyst/associate positions they want me to apply for ranging from brokerage, private equity, to development. I work at one of the big brokerages as a market research analyst and I'm only 9 months in and graduated from college less than a year ago.

My research manager is leaving for a different real estate opportunity and he was very open and honest with me about how it's important to take advantage of the job market right now because he had a hard time jumping ship before but now we're in a unique time where it couldn't be easier.

The thing is, I want to be a broker but there are no current openings at my brokerage and the market I'd like to be in. I like my company a lot but since I'm 22 years old I was thinking I do have extra time to try out other areas of the business and take advantage of moving to a stronger gateway market with more comp.

Is anyone else rethinking things with this employee favored labor market?

Constant, daily barrage by phone and email. Funny part is they are contacting the rest of my team as well and we all laugh about it. One of the guys feigned interest in a few roles to market-check before bonus/raise time and after one call to talk about the roles, got ghosted (happened 3 times). Some of the salesy lines they will leave on VM are hilarious. "I have a developer with the need for XX and I was told you specifically are the person to talk to" or "you would have total control over this real estate portfolio, they are looking for someone to act as the CEO" LOL…now I got my current role through a headhunter and they can be useful, but the current environment is hot and they are just trying to pimp people out…..

Back to your situation though…as someone just starting out, know what you want and entertain calls about that specific role. Don’t let the headhunters try to convince you that you’re perfect for some role that doesn’t help you move toward your ultimate goal.

lol, dude Hey "xyz."........ These are how all these messages are. That's software and it makes it seem like it is personalized. Like the other people on this thread have already mentioned, sometimes the entire class of analysts or associates get those and it's all "personalized" for them as well. Recruiting happens but not via random linkedin messages most likely. It will be a phone call or an in person lunch where you will be wined and dined and being given the pitch to join a team. At that point, it's not even recruited, more like being poached.

I’m in exact same scenario as you. I’m 10 months into my role as an analyst at a top brokerage shop ie JLL/CBRE. However I’m jumping ship to REPE bc I really don’t want to be a broker. It’s a hot market rn and I get a ton of messages, but for real roles I’m genuinely interested in at well regarded shops no one is going to reach out to me via LinkedIn for those types of roles.
