Ares Telephone Interview (London, Real Assets)

Hi guys,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Ares first-round telephone interviews? I've just been offered one and am not quite sure if its likely to be behavioural, technical or something else entirely. All help greatly appreciated!

Edit: also just gotten a different REPE and an RE AM first-round interview offer. I assume they are likely to be similar in first-round so advice on either of those also appreciated!

Hey there! Congrats on landing the interview with Ares! Based on the most helpful WSO content, first-round phone interviews can vary, but they often lean towards fit and behavioral questions. You might be asked about your interest in real estate and why you're interested in Ares.

However, it's always a good idea to be prepared for some technical questions as well. For instance, you might be asked about cap rates, leverage, and valuation-related topics.

And don't forget, sometimes interviewers might throw in a few brainteasers, so be ready for those too!

Remember, every interview is a two-way street. It's not just about them assessing you, but also about you assessing them. So, don't forget to prepare some thoughtful questions to ask them as well. Good luck!
