Hallo. i thing you read "The Real Estate Game" by William Poorvu based on recommendations from other sites. Gives a comprehensive view of real estate as an asset class from some basic urban economics to investment analysis.
Anyone got any more info on their new york office "investment banking analyst" position? The job description claims the analyst will be responsible "for financial modeling of financing structures, preparing financing proposals, offering memoranda, and Term Sheets".
Does an entry level position like this out of undergrad set you up for BB REIB/REPE? I've always been under the impression its just brokerage.
this sounds like an RE capital markets jobs, probably in the "Equity, Debt & Structured Finance" division if i had to guess. it most likely involves arranging financing at the asset level for acquisitions and refis/recaps. not very transferrable to IB i wouldn't think. buy side shops would value it if you do any asset-level modeling, but if not its still not a bad gig.
