Debt Side Exit Opps

Two-part question here:

1. Is it easier to transition from debt-to-equity or from equity-to-debt?

2. Does bank, LifeCo, or debt fund lending set you up better for the equity side?

I am interested in both debt and equity and would like to try out both in my career.
