Entity-level investing info and resources

I'm interning at a REPE shop that specializes in entity-level investing this summer. I am currently in a college class on investment analysis—our final paper assignment asks us to choose an asset class of interest and examine its history, strategy, players, risk/return profile, etc. I figured this would be a great opportunity to better familiarize myself with the space prior to this summer, but the strategy is pretty niche. If anyone has advice on where I can find papers/resources on entity-level investing that would be awesome.

I’m assuming your talking about repe who take control or position in the operator/development platform of the company. It’s not exactly an asset class in itself it considered real estate play. I can go into to detail but there is a lot of angles to cover on the play. Some investors in that space are oaktree, blackstone, tpg, sovereign wealth funds or pension funds. In a short answer it’s getting exposure to the investing platform for getting the fees/promote if you are taking a minority stake.
