From Residential Construction to Real estate analyst & or development

Hello Monkeys

I'm currently working as a project manager for a residential construction company in a major midwest market.

I'm looking to transition to an analyst position or work to become an associate at a developer. Do you have any recommendations into some things I should do to make myself hire able in specifics to those types of roles? I figure a lot of responsibilities and skills as a PM are transferable so I am more interested in the job specific technical aspects.

I have Roger Staigers book currently enroute in the mail, any insights or suggestions on how I could specifically improve me standing as a candidate would be well appreciated.

Background Non related major from respectable state school (health sciences BS) 2.5 years in residential construction industry
