Yes, this is great experience. I did this at Freddie Mac. Assuming it's a "name" firm, the sky's the limit with what you can do from here in real estate. With rare exceptions, you'll never become "rich" in this business, but this is one of the easiest ways to work a 40-50 hour work week and make 6 figures by the time you're 30.
The rare exception is the multifamily originator at a top group, like Wells Fargo or Prudential. A strong originator for one of these groups makes substantial sums ($300-500k/year easily).
