Yeah that’s what I’ve figured. Trying to make a jump from repe to development or to a gp and rarely see job postings. Any tips on getting to that side of the business?
The postings are up. Just need to look. Also through your network. Speak to friends. Recently, the only jobs I’ve seen are small GPs / Developers. Large companies haven’t been hiring from what I’ve seen. (All specific to my market of course).
I saw a posting for Capitol Seniors Housing recently. That’s an example of a respected but small operator posting online.
But I would say since operators are small, they are more open to people reaching out cold. I think the hard part about finding talent at a small company is finding someone who truly wants to be there. So if you’re reaching out cold, that eliminates that issue.
I got an interview at a relatively small group by reaching out to an alum. You just can’t be shy
What level of job or years of exp type job are you looking at? Headhunters are usually only engaged for roles 5 yrs senior and up (more like 10+ at a lot of firms), otherwise the positions tend to get listed on LinkedIn/Indeed even if a search firm is running the process

I feel like GP roles are filled through network way more often. It’s the PE funds that take 3 associates per year that are using recruiters
