How do you deal with a bad boss?

So I've been in AQ (at a LP) for roughly three years now and I am still having a bit of hard time with the way my boss works. He is been in the industry for a long time, so is very connected and very good at bringing in deals. However, his managerial skills are almost non-existent. He constantly treats me on a 'need to know basis' even though I'm an integral part of the team (we're very lean) - either I will not get included on the e-mail chain on a deal that we are working on, or he would rather forward me the e-mail, instead of including me in the first place. He also gets a little weird if I start interacting with GPs, let's say to clarify something, or when GPs reach out to me directly because his out of office e-mail specifically says to contact me if there's anything time sensitive. These are just a few examples. I was trying to see if I was being super sensitive, but then I noticed that my counterpart on the GP side, often gets included in said e-mails.

Overall, he just seems very insecure/petty, and definitely not one of those bosses that would mentor or even treat me as a team member (but I guess those are harder to come by anyway).

I've sorta raised this issue with other folks at the firm to get some perspective, and the feedback that I received was 'he's not going to change'.

If you were me, how would you approach this situation? Would you even discuss this with him?
