How to lateral in Asset Management?
Currently working in Asset Management at a REPE (just over 1B in AUM, in the Southeast US). I just got promoted to Associate but noticed just firm wide at most positions, even senior ones, the pay is really low compared to competitors. How soon would you lateral in my position for a higher paying firm and would it be viable for me to get a VP position at another group once I switch?
PM me
I would personally try and lateral as soon as possible. Why wait til you get more responsibility and are receiving that “low pay” you mentioned to jump?
That’s a good point. My only thing with that is you don’t think it’ll look bad if I move right after getting promoted?
I don’t think so, plus finding a new gig might take a couple of months anyway. People understand that folks move on from jobs all the time and it’s nothing personal.
