I work at a REPE debt fund doing quantitative analysis, all kinds of financial modeling. The only person I interact with is my manager. All the work I do I submit to her and all the analysis/projects internally/externally requested go to her and she pass down to me. So I want to go to industry conferences, mainly CREFC and IMN's conferences to know industry professionals and network. Can you guys share some tips on the networking at the industry conference? I usually go to the conferences alone (as my colleagues may not always go or they don't go with me ..sad.. and I end up on my one but I don't know anyone at the conference. -- therefore I don't really talk to anyone at the conference .. really need to get to know people... Any help is appreciated... maybe i'm just so bad at networking or starting a conversation or schmoozing... Please help.
