If a company says don't reach out should I still anyways.

I applied to a job off of selectleaders. It says do not reach out to us or any of our employees about this position. Its been two weeks, should I reach out anyways? What's the etiquette for this?

If a girl tells you "she never does this" is she telling you the truth? Maybe....but mostly likely not.

Many groups probably put those notes on there to weed out the people that will actually abide by them - easy way for them to shorten the pile to people they actually want to hire. Some might actually mean it, but I would guess it's a much smaller subset than the first.

Ask yourself the following question: are you more willing to risk losing the opportunity from waiting and missing out your chance to get your foot in the door or from being dinged for being openly interested and persistent?

I would give it another week or two. I have a hard time believing this is a "test" to show your eagerness. Probably overthinking it. They most likely have experienced getting inundated with messages in past job postings and don't want to deal with it. My advice is be patient if you really feel like you are a strong candidate. If it's a reach, then I guess you have nothing to lose by contacting them.
