Is it too late to get into a production type role (debt/IS) at late 20's or early 30's?

I have about 2.5 years experience in agency underwriting and 1 year experience in appraisal (current role). All reputable firms (CBRE/Berkadia/W&D). All multifamily focused roles. I'm 28 years old and considering going back to the agency lending area either as an underwriter or production. I think I can transition easily back to underwriting but would definitely consider a production role if possible. Likely SBL or conventional agency loans but would consider IS as well. Do you think it's too late, being 28? Or if I didn't move for another year or two? I would want to come on as an associate at the very least. Hoping my agency underwriting experience would carry a lot of weight. Thanks!
