You got your MBA after 2 years of tech sales? Is it a well-reputed MBA? And did you go full-time? Unfortunately all MBA's aren't created equal so you may feel you're behind but it could also just be you had to restart your clock and that's perfectly fine. People have different paths and timing. The job market is difficult so you may not have another opportunity to move to your city. I think the biggest question you need to ask yourself is why do you want to go to a megafund? Is it any megafund or just this one? Do you want to be on the LP side? Is it just to have the brand name? Or is it the other factors that allow you to have a lifestyle change and this is the company to do it?

I would take the school out and just replace it with a" topx" or yes because it can be triangulated for you. Generally speaking seems like it can be a good move for you. Is it an asset class you hate?
Not an asset class that I hate, but it would be the same asset class that I work in on dev rn. I Was hoping to broaden my horizon and try to do a generalist acquisitions role to learn more about different asset classes. Just don't want to be labeled as a "industrial" guy for example.

Getting to a firm with a top brand name is easily worth setting yourself back a year or two (if that is even the case, you really only have one year of relevant experience).
