Non-Target (Junior Career Advice)

Hello,

Currently a junior and have been trying to work in commercial real estate since my freshman year. I attend a non-target school in New York City and have had the following experience.

Freshman Year:

CSR internship through college, CRE training Program

Sophomore Year:

Property Management Intern at a Large CRE service firm

Junior Year:

Asked to return in winter for property management internship, leasing internship with Asset management firm in Spring

Junior Year Summer:

Committed to Commercial Banking, Commerical Real Estate Internship at Bulge bracket bank as a part of the institutional lending group.

I have worked in a different role for pretty much every experience I have so far, so I would like to start trying to narrow down options for the future. Based on my experience so far I believe I would like to work on the equity side of CRE, or potentially as an Investment Sales broker. If given the opportunity I probably would also take a return over from the bulge bracket.

For all of my experiences so far, I feel like I have stumbled into them more than anything, so would like to try becoming more proactive than reactive. Would appreciate hearing any of your stories or advice.
