KKR's K-Star

Anyone who is well aware of the "recent" K-Star structure?

There is KKR - Real Estate Credit team, so I am confused what exactly K-star underwriter position does. Below is the JD of K-Star Direct Lending Underwriter. So, all junior levels' investment positions in the credit team will be hired through K-Star? 

POSITION OVERVIEW

K-Star, is seeking to hire an investment professional to join its industry-leading real estate credit franchise. The qualified candidate will be responsible for underwriting a wide range of core, core plus, value-add, and opportunistic investment opportunities secured by stabilized, transitional and construction projects on behalf of KKR Real Estate Credit’s various direct lending vehicles and strategies. The candidate must have exceptional analytical, communication, and presentation skills, and the ability to build strong partnerships across the various KKR businesses, including the firm’s real estate credit originations, investment, legal, finance, and asset management teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Underwrite, structure, and execute commercial real estate credit investments (including transitional senior loans, mezzanine loans, and preferred equity investments) across KKR Real Estate Credit’s direct lending strategies.
  • Primary responsibilities include credit analysis and underwriting; property, market, and sponsor due diligence; preparation of investment memoranda; transaction management and loan closing; asset and portfolio management, and originations support and relationship management, among other areas.
  • Participate and present in pipeline meetings, screening committees, investment committees, and portfolio reviews;
  • Assist team with reporting requirements and other portfolio management work streams.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within K-Star and KKR Real Estate Credit’s organizational structure.
