Lending vs ownership

Have an initial interview with a commercial bank/multifamily mortgage lender. Working in originations, how is comp structured? Any insight at all regarding working for a lender would be greatly appreciated. I’ve been hyper focused on landing an acquisitions role at a REPE firm but the market is rough. I am definitely considering going the lending route for the time being, who knows maybe I’ll love it but would love more info from anyone who can speak on it from experience.
