Looking for Smaller Real Estate Shops for Unpaid Summer Internship
I’m a finance student interested in commercial real estate, especially the debt side, and I’m trying to find smaller real estate shops where I could reach out for a possible summer internship, unpaid internship, or even shadowing opportunity.
I’m not necessarily looking for the big-name firms that already have structured recruiting. I’m trying to identify smaller/private shops where a student could get real exposure, help with basic analysis, market research, underwriting support, deal sourcing, or general intern work.
I'd really appreciate it if anyone knows of such firms or knows how I can best execute this approach.
Try googling local brokers/developers and cold email some senior guys to try and get either in front of them or on a call. Could also be worth emailing some shops closer toward the bottom of the PERE 200.
In the email do you mention that you’re open to unpaid opportunities? Or just ask for a chat?
Always open asking for a chat, do some research on the individual and mention something they have done recently that was mentioned in the news.
