Los Angeles to Chicago REIB

Recently received and accepted a full time offer as a first year real estate investment banking analyst at goldman sachs in chicago. I currently live in Los Angeles and love having 65 degree winters but I want to get some tips on chicago and the city itself. how hard will it be to transition?
How should i prepare myself to moving out there in terms of where to live, what to do, things to be aware of, exit opportunities, night scene, best towns, best food, should i bring a car. where do most analyst/finance professionals live, is it a college town etc etc etc.
Any and all help would be very appreciated!

Congrats on the full time, that's an awesome gig.

Where to live: Lincoln Park, Wrigleyville, Gold Coast Things to be aware of: tourists but not as bad as NY Exit Opps: depends on what you want to do. If you're looking at REPE firms, a lot of reputable shops in Chicago Night Scene: Mainly wrigleyville and lincoln park. It's basically college during the weekends Best Food: too many places honestly Bring a car: no; public transit is pretty good
