Remember, it's not just about saying you're interested in real estate, but also demonstrating why. Do you have a personal connection to the field? Maybe you have a deep interest in architecture, urban planning, or you've been influenced by family members in the construction industry.
Also, consider the unique aspects of real estate that appeal to you. Do you like the idea of shaping and influencing entire communities? Or perhaps you're drawn to the tangible nature of the asset class and the ability to add value to your investments.
In terms of the admissions committees, while I can't speak for every program, it's likely that they're looking for candidates who are truly passionate about real estate. So, being more detailed in your application about your interest in real estate could certainly give you an edge.

They're more holistic because there is no ranking and they don't have to make sure their average GPA is X or GMAT score is Y or whatever. You should definitely focus on real estate when applying to a real estate masters program...
