An Instagram page I follow shared this awhile back. Decent list.

+1 This is a great list - thanks for sharing.
The ascent of money - nial furgeson
The Real Estate Game
A man in full - Tom Wolfe
The Liar’s Ball - Vicky Ward
Other people’s money - Charles bagli
Am I being too subtle - Sam Zell
The Spider Network: Enrich
- Pretty good look at the Libor scandal and how extensive the manipulation was. Reads like a thriller too
The Splendid and the Vile: Larson
- Another non-fiction book that reads like fiction. A detailed view of Churchill and the leadership/drama during the rise of Hitler
The Psychology of Money: Housel
- Haven't read it yet but love Housel, one of my favorite financial writers
The Wisdom of Finance: Desai
- Weird ass book but really interesting and short
Just finished The Psychology of Money and would definitely recommend it.
Other recs:
Shoe Dog - not related to RE, but a fantastic read about growing a business.
The Bonfire of the Vanities - classic Tom Wolfe novel. Think 1980’s version of Gatsby.
Guns, Germs and Steel, reading it at the moment and finding it very difficult to put down.
You might find this review, which summarizes the consensus of the historical establishment today, interesting. http://www.columbia.edu/~lnp3/mydocs/Blaut/diamond.htm Basically it has been largely discredited :|
Just finished Brave New World by Huxley. Thought it was fantastic. Just started The Professor, The Banker, and the Suicide King. If you’re into poker this one could be of interest to you.
Brave new world was insane. Definitely a heavy one
Here are a few more recent books on real estate and cities:
The New Urban Crisis: How Our Cities Are Increasing Inequality, Deepening Segregation, and Failing the Middle Class-and What We Can Do About It
The Address Book: What Street Addresses Reveal About Identity, Race, Wealth, and Power
The Library Book - not what you might expect as a real estate book, but its a captivating story of rebuilding the Downtown Los Angeles public library and a creative use of air rights.
And a couple political books:
The Soul of America: The Battle for Our Better Angels
How Democracies Die
