Nervous starting MF REPE
Hey all - got an amazing opportunity to lateral and join a MF REPE as a junior-level (senior analyst/associate) employee. I'm coming from a family office, where it was a small team, and I was able to take a lot of responsibility and initiative. Prior shop was single-asset, value-add/opportunistic but this new team would be huge portfolio level type of transactions. Lot of people on the team come from larger shops or real estate IB and feeling a bit nervous about starting. Any advice - not much I can do other than work hard, have a positive attitude, and try to kill it but any specific advice would be helpful.
Be confident - you’re there for a reason.
Agree clearly they saw something
Someone once told me, "If you're not terrified of you're next job, than it's not the right one." As others have said, MF don't just hire people out of the blue, you're there for a reason. Congrats and good luck.
Just curious, what was application/interview process like? Currently prepping.
^^^help the guys trying to be you! What was the process like, what preparation was needed, did you have to to IB?
