Pay Expectations - Capital Markets Associate

Hi all - office acquisitions VP at a fund that is going under (deployed in 2019-2021). Making the jump to the brokerage side - what should total comp expectations be for an Associate / VP role at a major shop (JLL, Eastdil, CBRE, Newmark)?

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some insights on compensation expectations for Associate/VP roles in major brokerage shops:

  1. Associate Compensation:

    • Base Salary: Typically ranges from $95k to $105k.
    • Bonus: Can range from 80% to 100% of the base salary.
  2. VP Compensation:

    • Total Compensation: For VPs in Equity Research (ER) at Elite Boutiques (EB), Bulge Brackets (BB), and Middle Markets (MM), the total compensation can vary significantly. However, specific figures for brokerage roles at JLL, Eastdil, CBRE, and Newmark are not detailed in the provided context.

For more precise figures, especially for VP roles in brokerage, it would be beneficial to refer to specific threads or discussions on WSO related to those firms.

Ehh. Yes it is. But really at these big firms it’s an execution jobs. The associate is not bringing in business. The VP is maybe just starting. These are salaried positions at the big firms for investment sales - especially in the major cities (NY/SF/DFW/MIA/Chi).

Don’t know where comp is. But I’m an acquisitions VP making 275-300 all in and my friends in brokerage make a lot more than I do.
