Post Interview Response Time

Have been interviewing with a few companies the past few weeks. Wondering what the typical amount of time it takes for a company to reach back out? If I'm told it will take 1-2 weeks by the interviewers, and a week to a week and half has gone by, what does that say? Or am I thinking too hard about it?

Don't read much into response time. 1-2 weeks is sometimes good. Having interviewed multiple places, I have seen offers come sometimes up to 45 days after interview. It depends on how big or small the firm is to? Do they have dedicated HR or principals handling everything? Many times HR is not the priority and things can get held off for awhile. Wait 2 weeks, then send follow up email.

It look almost two full months for me to get an offer for the job I currently have, and it wasn’t intentional or malicious on their part. The people who needed to interview me were constantly out at conferences and other business travel. Sometimes it just takes a while. We tend to assume the worst, like they’ve found another better candidate but it’s not always the case. There is no one set timeline and you never know what you’re going to get.
