PRE MBA IB back to IB
I’m currently an LMM REIB analyst with prior experience in real estate acquisitions. I was admitted to HBS and deferred for a year, so I’d start in Fall 2027.
I’m primarily viewing the MBA as a hedge while I continue recruiting for REPE roles or a move to a larger REIB platform.
If I ultimately attend HBS, how much would my pre-MBA RE acquisitions + REIB experience help in recruiting for:
- BB/EB IB summer associate roles, particularly REIB
- REPE summer associate / post-MBA investing roles
Would prior IB experience make me meaningfully more competitive than the typical MBA associate candidate, and how much does it matter for REPE recruiting?
