Are you saying the PE/IB forums have an obsession with prestige in terms of brand name companies you want to work for, or that the PE/IB forums in general are a more prestigious compared to the RE forum?
Prestige doesn’t pay my bills
Real Estate Forum Prestige = How many deals have you done? Which locations and investment strategy? What's the ticket size? What's your average IRR / MOIC?
IB Forum Prestige = EB or BB master race, otherwise go away you pleb
Also, RE is a lot easier to branch out onto your own and make millions while being relatively small. So prestige isn't even the best way to make the most.
I don't care what company I work for, I just want to build a skyscraper before I die.
I have nightmares about buildings that are core to multiple cities identities.
