Pretium Partners / Future of MBS Funds?

Hi there,

Two questions here..

1) Can anyone provide any insight on Pretium Partners ? Working there, performance really anything.

2) What is the general consensus of single Family Home investing and more broadly MBS in general? Seems like a ton of players are jumping into the space and negatively impacting pricing. How long before the party stops if it hasn't already?

Thanks,

Never heard of the firm but it looks pretty legit after looking at the website (partners have good experience and large AUM). I doubt you'll get much traction on this forum though because it seems to be CRE heavy but I hope I'm wrong because I think single family is really interesting.

To answer your second question I think there is still some opportunity in the SFR space but obivously not as much as there was in 09-10. Personally, I think there think real opportunity is in purchasing one off whole loans or smaller pools of distressed whole loans rather than RMBS. Also, the whole Blackstone/Invitation Homes play of securitizing rental income has got to shake things up with RMBS at least a little bit in the future if it hasn't already.
