Project Destined?? Seems kind of sketchy. Thoughts

I see so many kids posting their project destined powered by x top named real estate fund. Does anyone know anything about the program and if it is worth it or what benefits it has?

Not a real internship or anything, a lot of them are just like week long programs or the like. Anyone can get in but they specifically cater to DEI students. May help you make connections and might be better than nothing on your resume but I don't think I've seen anyone actually get a role at any of the companies they've done these programs at.

From what I understand it’s more of a networking thing than an actual internship, could be a solid way to get your foot in the door esp if you don’t have experience/come from a non-target.

I didn’t get much out of the program but it always looks good on a resume. It helped me get my first full time job. I echo doing SEO to really learn the technicals and have heavy resources.

Anyone know why they have like 1000 programs? Feel like they would be much better off running a few well-curated programs than making up a new one every week and having kids post pics of them attending a random Zoom where half the participants were prob not paying attention. I like the idea behind the program and obv support getting kids from underrepresented backgrounds into the industry but the way they run it makes it mickey mouse.

I did the program back when it launched in 2021 and was able to land a PE internship from it which launched my career and still looks good today. However, the quality of the program seemingly has declined significantly. I have no idea what they’re doing now but it looks bad. I would echo the SEO and/or MLT comments.

Appears to be a DEI career candidate funnel for those who receive validation from humble-bragging via LinkedIn. More curious on the founder - why stop MF REPE for this, unless it wasn’t up to them?
