RE internship rejections

Hey everyone, throughout this semester I've made into final rounds with several top tier firms, but I never end up getting the position. One company kept delaying the decision until finally saying no after nearly 4 months, which I think is pretty ridiculous for an internship.  Any insight into why these companies keep me for final rounds but always go with someone else? Nepotism? I have no idea.

My plan as of now if I don't get an internship this summer is to take classes and graduate, and then apply for full time roles in the fall. I'm scared that full time interviews will be the same.

Those are just tough gigs to land regardless. It’s not too late to start hitting up some MM REPE firms and maybe some brokerages.

I would start looking at maybe the JLL/Eastdil/CBRE roles. Also, I would reach out to alums that are at your school and see if they would do an unpaid internship. You would be surprised about the sophistication of the deals that they are able to do. Hang in there though.. It's a tough time and others like myself are going through it right now.

I appreciate the advice. Unfortunately, I have already applied to all those places. Had an interview with JLL and never heard back, had two with Eastdil and never heard back, and then never heard anything at all from CBRE. I think it is just a bad time for RE, because my background puts me well within the range of these companies. I have a few more interviews with local shops coming up, so hopefully those go well.
