REFM Level 1&2&3
Hello,
Is the REFM Certificate the best real estate modeling course?
Will it help me land my 1st job while at undergrad?
I heard it's the "gold standard" in a youtube video.
Would appreciate any remarks.
Regards.

Career Resources
I would focus less on the certificates and more on the knowledge behind them. Nobody has ever asked about having those on my resume (I had all three coming out of school), but they have asked for me to produce a functional waterfall. If you can do that, you’ll be fine. You can find free resources to teach you how to do that (Adventures in CRE is great). Try building one into your next model for a finance class. Put that on your resume. “Built model for ABC including DCF and distribution waterfall with multiple IRR hurdles.” That’ll get you much further.
I dont think the certificates themselves will mean much unless you happen to get a hiring manager who went to Wharton or is a part of the REFM/Linneman sphere. That said, In my opinion Kirsch material is the best, particularly the advanced modeling coursework.
Thanks for the comment.
Do you have any other good resources that you recommend?
It could be anything - textbooks, courses, blogs, videos, etc.
Do it. Great learning material. It will separate you from the people who don’t have any financial modeling skills.
Thanks for the comment.
Why does Bruce sigh soo loudly whenever someone asks him a question
