REPE/Development Shops in DC Area
Looking to start networking/doing research to break into a REPE/Development Role. Banking is great, pay is wonderful, but missing the Real Estate nitty gritty we all know and love. Starting to research what/where I may want to land once my analyst stint is up, would appreciate any leads/info on some reputable shops in the DC Metro ideally in Development/Acquisitions
JBG, Starwood, Carlyle, Greystar, FCP, Clark FO, Anchor, Carr. Certainly not all encompassing but a good list of places I have friends at currently
I wouldn't really consider JBG a desirable shop anymore. Since they went public there has been a mass exodus of everyone with a shred of risk tolerance.
Artemis. Great guys.
TCC has their biggest office (by headcount) in DC
Other notable REPE firms with smaller offices in DC are: Bridge, Carmel, Declaration Partners, DivcoWest, Tishman Speyer, Westbrook
MRP is a great GP. They do a lot of value-add office, industrial, and multi
TruAmerica has team based out of the D.C area as well. I’ve seen them hiring there every so often.
Artemis although analyst comp is a little low for REPE
how low are we talking
70k base but 55k bonus.
I'd also toss out PN Hoffman as a local player, they did a ton of work at the Wharf. I think all the big in development/PE generally have an office in DC - Starwood, CIM, Hines, BXP, AVB, EQR, Tishman, etc. A couple other smaller players would be like Madison Marquette, Douglas, Bozzuto.
Bump, looking to do Masters at Georgetown to segment into DC REPE.
