Analyst on Top Brokerage Team To UMM/MF REPE Strategy

I am a analyst (Think CW/JLL/CBRE). I oversee analyst work and have leadership experience. Im on a top team and people know my bosses. I want to exit to UMM or MF repe.

 - What is the best way to begin networking with top megafunds around the country? Just sending "Associate Interest" emails and getting them on the phone that way?

- Will I be viewed on par with true REIB analysts or will I be relegated to shittier ops?
