Should I expect a raise after 5 months?
Hi all, just began a role in October.
We have our bonus/comp talks in March, and then any raises take effect in April. My bonus for 2022 is already locked in according to my offer letter, but I was curious if I should expect a raise or not. I will have been in my seat for 5.5 months by the time April rolls around, so feel it is a bit of a gray area.
Not necessarily thinking I need/deserve a raise, more worried that I will not get one and then be locked at my current base for almost 18 months by the time 2024 comp talks come aroundAt a brand name RE company known for doing right by people FWIW
No
Depends on the firm. Both firms I started at mid year I received a raise for the new year. One was a 3% raise and one was an 8% raise. I wouldn’t be surprised if you got one. Usually it’s corporate policy for at least an inflation raise.
It is a gray area, becuase your salary was might have been factored in already. Most companies budget for the next year with inflationary raises
A structural raise? Likely no, but it isn't uncommon for COLA to be given to everyone.
Not expecting a 10-15% structural/tenure based raise, no. Moreso meant the 3-5% or so for COLA. Just don't want to be flat for 18mo
